Great news for those planning travel to and from Tokyo in late October — All Nippon Airways (ANA) will be connecting Tokyo’s Haneda airport to both New York and Chicago. ANA, Japan’s second largest airline, has been planning this change since earlier this year. They first announced the new routes in May and are now scheduled to begin October 30th.
Travelers should note these new flights to Haneda will coincide with the suspension of ANA’s flights from New York and Chicago to Tokyo’s Narita Airport.
Daily Flights from JFK:
Flights will depart at 4:55 P. M. and arrive to Tokyo and 9:10 P. M. the following day, return flights from Haneda leave at 10:20 A.M. arriving to New York at 9 A.M.
Flights from Chicago:
Flights will depart at 4:15 P.M. and will arrive at 8:30 P. M. the following day and return flights from Tokyo depart at 10:50 A.M. arriving to Chicago at 7:40 A.M. the same day.
The routes will both be operated using the Boeing 777-300E aircraft, which means more comfort for travelers on the long transcontinental flight. This new schedule will increase the number of flights and deliver travelers closer to central Tokyo. This will hopefully result in added convenience for those who travel to Tokyo regularly.
In addition to the new flights from New York and Chicago, ANA will be adding service between Kuala Lumpur and Haneda beginning October 30th. Flights on this route will depart from Kuala Lumpur at 2:15 P. M. arriving at 10:05 P.M. and the return flight will depart Tokyo at 12:05 A. M. arriving to Kuala Lumpur at 6:35 A. M.
